Coping with BF serving NS

I once had a friend telling me this, "Out of all my female friends, NONE of them were able to wait for their bf to finish serving their NS".

http://www.sgfitness.com/members/1388195/uploaded/singapore-saf.jpg

Well... actually in almost another 2 months, I would probably be his first ever female friend who does so.

Throughout this 2 years... definitely it's not gonna be easy for both parties, physically and mentally.

From the day he got enlisted, to the day he POP, got posted to his units and lastly till he ORD.

To many other who might not have been through this, you may think how difficult can it be, it's just 2 years!?

Technically, yes... 2 years is not a long period of time. Then you have lots of people coming over to tell you, use this as an opportunity to put your relationship to the test. See the relationship can last long or not… blah blah blahh.. =.=

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhklIpqhAz5E2aRRSm8bQ26c-fKU9upg5YKIbN2eMPf6kvlpw1kA9fO9kj461ykJvuJIjKSsd8tV_Tyi9dIDNoRaHOId4Hct8ckN2aT-jNsOvRlpk4k7VO51pWwaxam3ngLcAqhMrycEFA/s1600/c_gogn_einkamal_woman-whispering-to-man-pop-art_wallpaper2.jpg

And.. if the relationship fails, people usually blames the girl. Saying things like, “she cannot handle a relationship well…” “Must be she had lost interest in the guy…”

Sometimes, that’s not the case. Let’s just use a very common term – It takes 2 hands to clap. Both parties need to work together.

Yes, the girl has to be understanding, understand that your bf is super drained by the end of the week; he can’t be entertaining you for the whole weekend…

But the guy can still choose if he wants to spend their time with the girl or not.

This is usually where most of the problem surface; the gf may think that after waiting for 5 days, they should spend their time together while the guy may think that he needs to charge up his energy and have no mood to go elsewhere.

Actually, the guy has a choice to do what they want. So don’t force them to act according to your command. They can choose to sleep or forgo their sleeping/resting/gaming (you name it) time and spend their time with you or it can be the other way round. By having the girlfriend being the more understanding party, giving more personal space to the bf.

It’s a choice of who is more willing to be the more understanding party.

Speaking from the perspective of a gf, the only thing we can do is wait. You can’t stop your bf from entering the NS. So face the fact that you have to wait. And to cope with it, try to think positively. At least you have a little more time for yourself and at any point of time you really miss him badly, look at the picture you guys took.

Or you can take up a course to pick up a new skill. Anything to keep you occupied! XD

Be sure that you will learn to be more independent as compared to last time; there will be times you will have to face things alone without the support of your bf.

21st Birthday, Growing Up...

In another 5 more days, I will be turning 21! Time really flies. In a blink of eyes, we are all grown up. And I'm still not sure what I want to do after entering adult life.

Should I pursue my studies? Or should I work first? Every step is a responsibility...

Back in 2008, Secondary School days. Working part-time, bringing Japanese exchange students around Singapore! That's the time when you can spend your pay without having to think much. (Looking back now, I GAIN SO MUCH WEIGHT!)

Okay, the merlion looks really creepy here.

Well... throughout my teenage days, my hair length is either slightly pass my shoulder or just SHORT. Really boring...

Trying out new style now, going it back to waistline length.

Like Kashiyuka maybe?

Anyway, I am really looking forward to my 21st birthday! It's going to be first time in my life entering a suite in a hotel, which also means $$$$.

But is for my 21st birthday, a once in a lifetime event so the heavy budget better worth it!

The theme is the party is set to be RAINBOW! and a little bit of japanese plus nyan cat.

Something like this maybe?

Okay, I know the combination is a kind of weird but is actually a mix of everything I like.

And not complaining much, my sister actually managed to design an invitation card with a little bit of everything. Rainbow + Japanese + Nyan Cat which looks good!

I will blog about my 21st birthday next week.

Next post will be up on Friday! Basic: Exfoliate

That's it for today. Till next time~

Basic: Removing make up

NOTE: All products are bought using my own money, I am not sponsored nor in any way affiliated to the company. These are of my own opinion and personal encounters. I will not be responsible should the product work differently and cause skin irritation to your skin. The skin type and sensitivity of each individual is different. Thank you.

After patting on make up on your face, it is very important to remove it thoroughly at the end of the day. Especially if you are heading straight to bed. Failure to do so will actually cause your pores to clog and result in breakouts. And if you are suffering from acne problems, this can be one of the reasons why your skin is not clearing up. So be sure to clean your face and apply the correct skincare depending on the type of skin you have.

Cleaning Oil

Well, if you have oily skin, you might be thinking that wouldn't using this product be making my skin even oiler? The answer is; it depends on your skin type and the brand of product you are using. A cleansing oil actually helps to remove make up better and prevent any residue that might clog your pores. If you are one of those that are still sceptical about using "oil" on your face, you can always double cleanse. This means to clean your face for a second round using either cleansing water or a facial cleanser. The product I am using is by ZA. A Japanese make up brand cleansing oil that has deep cleansing properties, removes waterproof make up and cleans deep into your pores. This product does not clog my skin and did an excellent job in removing all the make up.

Product used:
  1. NYX Lipstick
  2. Sana Super Quick Gel Pencil Eyeliner EX
  3. Urban Decay Eyeliner
  4. Lancôme Hypnose Mascara Waterproof
Note: Do make sure that your skin is dry. Remove any trace of water from the skin before using product.

I used about 2 pumps for my hands but if you are using it to clean your face make up, use about 5 pumps depending on the size of your face. Apply the cleansing oil to your skin and massage your face in a circular motion, starting from places that has the most make up and slowly move on the rest of your face. Next add a bit of water to your face and continue. The process of adding water to the cleansing oil is call emulsifying. This process separates the oil and the liquid. Think oil being less dense than water; thus the oil sort of "captures" the dirt and the make up, lifting it away from your skin.

After you massage for about 2-3 mins, the make up would dissolve and it will look like this. Not much strength is needed to rub off all the products. Everything came off really easily.

Next, rinse off the cleansing oil using lukewarm water and pad dry gently using a clean towel.

Pro: Does not sting nor blur sight vision should the product get into your eyes.
Con: Does leave a bit of oily feel to your skin after washing it off.

Cleansing Gel/Cleansing Milk

If you are very convinced that a cleansing oil will surely clog your pore, try a cleansing gel or a cleansing milk instead.

Oily Skin = Gel
Normal/Dry Skin = Milk

Yes! If you have oily skin like me, try to stay away from products with words such as "rich" or "cream". They tends to be too much for oily skin, which will clog the pores and cause acne. It works like the cleansing oil but will not be able to remove waterproof mascara. So, you will have to get a eye make up remover to remove your eye make up.

I use this perfect gel on days where I don't put on any waterproof products. Just like many Japanese product, this perfect gel leaves the skin with a squeaky clean feeling, so there is no need to double cleanse.

Pro: Refreshing, affordable price
Con: Does not remove waterproof make up

Eye Make up Remover

As a contact lens user, you should not only keep your lens clean but also make sure that you clean off your make up properly as the residue that remains in your eyes might result in an eye infection.
As my eyes tend to tear easily, I usually prefer to use waterproof mascara. To remove stubborn mascara off your lashes, use a eye make up remover that is meant to remove waterproof products. Other types of eye make up remove will not be able to remove it at all. It will not budge!
So how do your know if the make up remover is meant to remove waterproof products? It is usually labelled on the container. In any case should you not be able to find it, just look at the contents of the product. Waterproof eye make up remover always has 2 layers. They are the "oil" segment and the "normal liquid" segment. If you shake the product, both segment will be mixed together and that is when you pour the product onto a cotton pad and use it to clean off the waterproof mascara.

The eye make up I am using currently is the Bi-Facil eye make up remover by Lancôme.

Pro: Clean off waterproof mascara as claimed
Con: Need a longer time to fully remove all traces of mascara

When it comes to eye make up remover, I still prefer Bifesta eye makeup remover.

That's it for today. Till next time~

Eyeliner - Every Day Look

Hi Guys,

As promise, I'm gonna write about my favourite eyeliner and that is none other than - Sana Super Quick Gel Pencil Eyeliner EX 01! This is a gel eyeliner formulated into a pencil form, so you can skip the trouble of having to clean your brush after every application. It sets super quickly and after it dries, it is totally smudge-proof. (At least it is for me :D)

Yes, this eyeliner is not only smudge-proof but it is also water-proof, the prefect eyeliner to be worn to a beach outing! I've tried a few eyeliner but they all smudge onto my bottom lash line when I blink my eyes. Needless to say, this eyeliner is able to stay on my oily eyelid for up to 8 hours long!

I took some pictures of how I do my daily eye make up with this eyeliner.

1) Apply eyelid primer to your lids, this helps to make the eyeliner last longer. (Not shown in the picture)

2) Next, tilt your head a little backwards and fill in the gaps between your lashes. Don't worry if the line is not neat, we'll smudge out the liner using a dark brown eye shadow later on.

3) Take a small flat brush, dip it into a dark chocolate brown shadow and line your upper lash line and wing it out.

4) After that, take taupe eye shadow colour and apply it to your bottom lash line. Make sure to stop at about 1/3 of your eyes or else it's going to make your eyes look smaller.

5) Curl your lashes and apply your favourite mascara to the top and bottom lash.

6) And... You're done!

This is the end product, it's more of a natural look. Perfect for an everyday look. Be it for a casual day outing or wearing it to work.

The eye shadow applied will help to keep the eyeliner to stay on longer.

You can pair this look with a nude lip gloss or even a red cherry lip tint.

Sana Super Quick Gel Pencil Eyeliner retails for $22.90 and can be bought at selected Watsons, Guardian and BHG stores.

It's a start of a new post!

Hi ALL! I'm gonna start writing about lifestyle and beauty. So stay tune.

Gonna start this post to introduce myself first. My name is Cassandra and I am a huge fan of Japanese anime. I do cosplay but I'm not a full-time/professional cosplayer. I do it because of my interest in the characters I cosplay. I've start cosplay since 2009, my first character being Lunamaria from Gundam Seed Destiny.

Yes, I know! It's not a good one. But hey, it's my first time cosplaying! I put in a lot of effort on the research on the character, like what she likes, how she walks. All this!

Moving on, I still did a couple of cosplay, even until now. I will be preparing for the next event which is "Cosfest" in July.

Asides to my cosplay hobby, my favourite girl band is PERFUME! That's right, the Japanese electronic dance pop group. I went for their concert last year when they came to Singapore during their 1st world tour. It's a blast! They look so pretty in real life!

Anyways, enough of myself. I will be posting an entry on my favourite eyeliner next.
So don't forget to check back.

Till then, Best wishes! (=^-^=*)
